Hi! I can't lie, this was my first time making a caramel sauce so I was a little nervous as to how it would come out, especially since I was making it for a large group of people. I taste tested and liked it but the true test was in the party. I made it to use as a dipping sauce for churros and although it was perfect for the churros I'd totally use this as a multi purpose caramel for dipping apples, topping ice cream, etc...! Everyone at the party was raving about how great the caramel sauce was so I'm so excited to share this recipe with you. I hope you love it as much as I did!
This recipe yields almost 4 cups - you could halve this recipe if you only want a little bit!
You will need:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup corn syrup
  • 1 tbsp sea salt (or Himalayan salt)
  • 3/4 cup whipping cream

Directions:
  1. In a saucepan bring all sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Once everything is melted and fully combined remove from heat and allow to cool 10 minutes.
  3. After cooling put back over medium heat and add in whipping cream. Whisk until fully combined.
