hi y'all! This smoothie recipe is the result of another fun recipe swap club challenge. If you haven't followed along with my swap posts in the past it is a food blogger network where I am challenged monthly to recreate a recipe from a fellow foodie and give it a try. I have so much fun with this each month because it gives me new inspiration and recipes to write up for you that I may not have gotten to otherwise! This month I worked from Simply Made Recipes, a blog written by a husband and wife duo who love to cook together and work to bring their audience easy and affordable recipes and decided to give their protein packed strawberry vanilla smoothie a try.
Have y'all ever tried seasonal White Russian drinks?! I am so hooked. I wasn't a big coffee fan until recently, and I've never been a big milk fan so White Russians weren't always my cup of tea but last holiday season my boyfriend got me try a peppermint flavored one he likes to make and I was obsessed. It was easily my new favorite holiday cocktail that just tasted like coziness and Christmas. As the holiday season is approaching us I've been craving one but just can't justify getting all Christmasy just yet. When I went to the grocery store over the weekend I saw the pumpkin spice Kahlua and got more excited than I probably should have because voila, I could have my seasonal White Russian with a "fall" twist! For any movie buffs out there I also finally saw The Big Lebowski this year and can't help but love this drink a little more as it's "The Dude's" signature. This rendition was so yummy and a perfect drink to serve up to guests this season or just to cozy up by the fire with a movie on.
Hi y'all! With summer ahead of us I spy lot's of reasons to celebrate and drink champagne. Isn't good weather alone a good reason?! Not to mention the 3 day weekends like Memorial Day, 4th of July and eventually, Labor Day in which we love to be patriotic. I know this post is about as simple as it could possible get, but I just had to share ... it's so effortless to toss in some red & blue berries to your glass of champagne, and I mean come on... how cute is this festive bottle?!
Hi y'all! Happy Memorial Day - I loved finally getting some beautiful summer weather this weekend and having a long weekend to kick back and enjoy a good margarita. These are perfect for all our summer holidays like Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day... or could of course be made any time for a fun and festive drink! I'll be honest, they weren't as effort free as I was expecting based on some other similar posts and ideas I'd seen online, but after a little trial and error I got the hang of it and can hopefully make them a little more effort free for you! I'm not going to lie.... once accomplished these were dangerously good, like I feel like I'm drinking a refreshing smoothie and there's no alcohol in this kind of good. On that note, let's get to it so you can enjoy them too!
National mimosa day was this week, aka best holiday ever? It fell on a work day this year which was a little inconvenient, but hey, I improvised and had mimosas for dinner... no ones judging, right? Any way I wanted to share this with y'all in case you haven't strayed away from a standard OJ mimosa and tried a pineapple juice mimosa. I'm certainly not saying I don't love a good standard OJ version... but man o' man are these pineapple ones good, I might even go out on a limb and say I'd prefer them!
If you like spice this drink is a must try! I love the way it counteracts the sweetness and adds flavor. I'm also a big fan of using fresh agave & lime instead of mix - so yummy and fresh! You can find agave nectar at some grocery stores and most liquor big box stores such as BevMo! Cheers, y'all!
Okay so it's about that time of year where I would prefer just about everything to be "holiday" or "festive" so here we are. I admittedly don't even like a standard White Russian because I'm not that big on coffee but I got introduced to the peppermint version and fell in love! Let's just say I know what I'll be drinking for the rest of this holiday season...!
Champs, champs, champs - I can never get enough. Sometimes the standard OJ mimosa, while delicious, just isn't what I'm in the mood for - so POM mimosas it was one day. These were delicious. Just mix champagne & POM (or any pomegranate juice), and add fresh berries for presentation which is totally optional. Cheers!
