Happy National Pigs in a Blanket day y'all! If you follow any of my other recipes you may know by now that I love pigs in a blanket - I've shared the Pretzel version as well as cheesy jalapeno, and today made up this bacon wrapped version, all three so delicious! I may be partial to these though... I mean add bacon to anything and I'm sold. I love how easy these are to make and they're always a brunch or party hit.
You will need:
  • 1 pack of crescent roll dough (per 16 pigs in a blanket)
  • Beef Lil' Smokies
  • Thin / center cut bacon - do NOT use thick cut, it will not cook through properly.
  • Cream cheese, optional!
  • Sesame seed topping also optional.
Exact amounts are not important for this recipe, use your discretion to make as many as you want.
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Spray a baking sheet with nonstick spray.
  • Open up crescent roll dough per instructions. Cut each in half, long ways so you have a total of 16 not 8 rolls.
  • Cut your raw bacon strips into thirds.
  • Add a little cream cheese to dough, roll up a lil smoky with bacon, lay on top of the cheese, and roll up.

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired.
  • Bake 16-20 minutes until they start to turn golden brown and bacon looks cooked.
  • Enjoy!

I just want to take a bite! Your bacon wrapped pigs in blanket looks so delicious. Last year, my friend made a different version of this awesome comfort food. She made a circle of pigs in a blanket on a round pan. She didn't put anything on the middle. She just put the little piggies at the side and baked it. And while it's in the oven she started making chili con carne dip. And when the piggies are cooked she poured the thick chili con carne at the center of the pan. Lo and behold! We had a Chili Cheese Pigs in the Blanket meal! It's super yummy!

No-nonsense, and simple enough for beginner cooks to use with extra ideas for taking it a step further. Great guide!
