Coming from Texas I can be pretty picky about my BBQ, especially brisket. I had never tried this Jack Daniels Beef Brisket, which you can find at the grocery store in the pre packaged meat area of the butcher, but last night was feeling a little lazy and really wanted BBQ. I decided to give it a go and make sandwiches with it and they were so delicious!!! I was really impressed with the tenderness and taste of the brisket for being a pre packaged BBQ meat. This recipe is super quick and easy and a great alternative to your go to burger or deli sandwich option. I will most definitely be making these again! I only made 2 sandwiches this time, but I would say you could easily make 4 with the amount of brisket in the package!
You will need:
  • 1 package Jack Daniels Beef Brisket
  • Bread from your grocery store bakery, I grabbed a thin loaf of focaccia.
  • Jack Daniels BBQ sauce (or any BBQ sauce would do, I just liked the combo of keeping it all Jack Daniels to pair with the meat.
  • Angel Hair Coleslaw
  • Garlic salt - optional.

Directions:
  • Start by preheating your oven to 350 degrees - per the Jack Daniels Brisket oven instructions.

  • Pour the meat into an oven safe baking dish - I find it best to separate the slices out a little to allow all the strips to heat evenly.
  • Cover the whole baking pan in tin foil.
  • Put in the oven and set your timer for 12 minutes.

  • While the brisket is baking cut your bread into the size sandwiches you want.
  • Add a thin layer of BBQ sauce to the inside of both the top and bottom slices.
  • On the bottom slice add a layer of the coleslaw.
  • Optional : sprinkle some garlic salt on the BBQ sauce of top slice of bread.

  • Remove the brisket from the oven and onto a cutting board. DO NOT TURN YOUR OVEN OFF.

  • Slice the brisket slices in half and add them to the sandwich.
  • I only made two sandwiches so I had leftover meat which I just saved for a snack later in the fridge!
  • Put the whole sandwich together and bake 5-10 minutes in the oven. The baking time will depend on what kind of bread you are using so just use you best judgement on when the sandwiches feel and look ready!

  • Serve and enjoy!!

This twenty minute bake sandwich of yours is really impressive. I mean, there are not a lot of people who will waste time preparing their sandwiches, but that is the reason why they do not have the best. If you ask me, a sandwich needs to be prepared with a lot of time. If you do not even want to spend twenty minutes on a sandwich, then I suggest that you leave this blog. Sandwiches need to be prepared with delicacy.
